# Excel

> Import an Excel workbook as leads, with columns matched for you.

There is nothing to connect. Drop an `.xlsx` file anywhere on **Leads**, or
open **Leads → Import** and pick it.

* The first sheet with rows in it is imported.
* Columns are matched the way a CSV's are: "Company Name", "companyName" and
  "company" all land in Company.
* Columns ManyPI does not recognize are kept as custom variables, so you can
  use them in emails.
* A lead with the same email as one you already have is merged, not
  duplicated.

The same importer takes CSV, TSV and JSON files, and rows pasted straight out
