# Freshdesk

> Keep your Freshdesk contacts out of cold email, or import them as leads.

## Connect

  <Step title="Copy your API key">
    In Freshdesk, click your profile picture, then **Profile settings**. Under
    **Your API Key** on the right, click **View API Key** and copy it.

    Open **Integrations** in ManyPI, click **Freshdesk**, and enter:

    * **Helpdesk address**: `acme` if your help desk is `acme.freshdesk.com`
    * **API key**: the key you copied

## Import contacts

Open the {name_0} connection under **Integrations** and click **Import
contacts**. Choose what they are:

* **Existing customers** go on your do-not-contact list. This is the usual
  choice for a support tool: the people in it already pay you, and cold email
  is the fastest way to annoy them.
* **Prospects to reach out to** become leads you can add to campaigns.

Run it again whenever you want to pick up new contacts. Addresses already on
the list are skipped.
