# Zendesk

> Keep your Zendesk customers out of cold email, or import them as leads.

export const name_0 = "Zendesk"

## Connect

Zendesk needs three things: your subdomain, an agent email and an API token.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create an API token">
    In Zendesk, open **Admin Center → Apps and integrations → Zendesk API**.
    Turn on **Token access**, click **Add API token**, and copy it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in the connection">
    Open **Integrations** in ManyPI, click **Zendesk**, and enter:

    * **Subdomain**: `acme` if your help center is `acme.zendesk.com`
    * **Agent email**: the email of the agent who created the token
    * **API token**: the token you copied
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Import contacts

Open the {name_0} connection under **Integrations** and click **Import
contacts**. Choose what they are:

* **Existing customers** go on your do-not-contact list. This is the usual
  choice for a support tool: the people in it already pay you, and cold email
  is the fastest way to annoy them.
* **Prospects to reach out to** become leads you can add to campaigns.

Run it again whenever you want to pick up new contacts. Addresses already on
the list are skipped.
